Waking up to ‘Grey’s Anatomy’
1 December 2008
Okay, so I’m not really waking up to Grey’s Anatomy, as it were. I am, though, waking up to a lot of the music. Before I went to bed last night, I put a new “morning mix” CD into the alarm clock; this morning was its first time waking me. Four of the six songs are featured on a Grey’s Anatomy soundtrack CD.
- University of Alabama Million Dollar Band, “Yea Alabama” — If there’s a better way to wake up in the morning, I haven’t found it yet.
- Bill Ricchini, “A Cold Wind Will Blow through Your Door” — If I slept through “Yea Alabama”, this is a softer start to rousing me from my slumber.
- Yanni, “Marching Season” — Before you express shock that I would have Yanni music on my CD, I should point out that the second half of this song was used by CBS Sports back in 1990 in a promo plugging the sports it had lined up for the year.
- Tegan and Sara, “Where Does the Good Go?” — The music gets a little louder here; do you notice a trend?
- Get Set Go, “I Hate Everyone” — Who hasn’t felt this way on a cold, snowy winter morning?
- Brandi Carlile, “The Story” — Brandi occasionally gets a little screamy during this song. I’m counting on that as an alarm of last resort.
