The road to 13.1: Bonus hill work

16 March 2009

This afternoon, I made it back from Lansing just in time to get in some work on the hills of Kalamazoo….

Bonus run:  4.66 miles, 47:44, 10:14.6/mile

Based on time alone, I should be happy.  Unfortunately, I’m not.  This group was sooo much faster than me.  All of them.  Every single one of them.  I ran what was for me a very good — and pretty hard — pace, but I finished so far behind everyone else that it wasn’t even funny.  Some folks were most of the way through their post-run stretching before I even finished.  As I explained to Dr Mary, “I *hate* being last.  Hate it.  Despise it.  Loathe it.”

And I totally meant it.
