The road to 13.1: “That would be stupid”

18 March 2009

So, near the end of Monday’s run, Dr Mary asked me if I planned to do speed work on Tuesday.  I asked what the proper answer would be.  She advised me that the correct answer was, “No, Mary; that would be stupid.”  So, I answered, “No, Mary, that would be stupid.”  Since I don’t do stupid things, I didn’t run on Tuesday.  If I had done speed work on Tuesday, though, it would have gone something like this:

Run #31:  3.09 miles, 32:55, 10:39.2/mile

It would have been a nice, easy run with interval lactate threshold training.  My friend Sheila would have been there.  I would have run while wearing an orange (well, Oranje) shirt and green beads.  It would have been fun.
