The road to 13.1: Shoes, support, soreness

22 March 2009

I gave the new shoes a go today on my 5K run.

Run #34:  3.11 miles, 32:27, 10:26.6/mile

My pace was decent and felt rather effortless … but … ugh.  Apparently, my feet really aren’t used to having as much support as the new shoes provide.  Either that, or … can I have too much support?  My feet suffered today.  I think I had the shoes laced too tightly, but I don’t think that was all of it.  My poor feet felt battered.  Maybe they’ll get used to it.  Otherwise … ugh … this sucks!
