I watched this video yesterday afternoon as I was reflecting upon the lyrics. I didn’t find the video to be helpful in helping me to interpret the author/composer’s composition. Love the lyrics though!
I see the video as depicting the conflict/struggle mentioned in the song’s lyrics. The couple could surrender, but they end up not doing so. They look unhappy as the video begins, so I perceive that they’re pondering laying down their arms, surrendering, and walking away, but they don’t.
