Pace run

This morning’s Safari expedition was (for me, anyway) a 9-mile pace run.  I fully expected it to kick my tail, as I spent the week feeling rather exhausted, and didn’t feel like I had a really great run all week long.  Maybe I should come into more runs feeling that way, as I had a really solid run this morning.  For the first 7.5 miles, I averaged 9:06/mile; given that my goal race pace is 9:08/mile, that was a pretty solid effort.  I gradually accelerated for the last 1.5 miles, bringing in the 8th mile at an 8:40 clip and the 9th in 8:15.

9 miles, 1:20:31, 8:56.8/mile

After the run, I went to have breakfast with some of the Shufflers, then went to lunch with my “adopted” kid sister Bridgette, then turned homeward to chill out for a while.  My legs were a bit sore while I was at Panera for breakfast, but haven’t felt too shabby since.  They’ll be asked for 5 or so miles in the morning, so that needs to continue to be the case.

It’s nice when a run comes together like that, especially when you are not expecting it. Not sure if you are logging your training online, check out our online training logs. We can help you track your training, post your workouts to Facebook & Twitter and find other people with similar interests.

It’s definitely nice when a run goes right. Thanks for sharing the site info; I’ll check it out. I generally log my runs in an Excel worksheet, but I’ll check out the site.
