Race report: Mint City 10-Miler
St Johns, Michigan was a chilly and very, very damp place on Saturday, 8 August. I didn’t particularly feel like running, but I seem to run better when I feel like crap. Saturday was no exception. The race started 30 minutes late because of lightning. That gave me a bit of extra time for stretching, though, which helped a lot, especially given the fact that it rained for the entire race. That helped keep me cool, though, and enabled me to manage a pretty decent run. I didn’t place well in my age group, but I rarely do. My time was very good for me. I ran the second half of the race faster than the first, and I managed a 7:46 time for my 10th mile, by far my fastest mile of the race.
