Running on the road: Mid-week training runs

12 August 2009

As usually, I’m way behind on blogging about my running.  I thought I’d try to make up for it.

Sidebar:  While I’m not sure when I’ll get this posted, it’s worth sharing that I’m at a baseball game as I compose this entry.  I showed up to volunteer for an activity in support of Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kalamazoo, but am staying for the baseball game only because I could bring my computer and get some work done.  That’s just the way it is.

Tuesday, 4 August – I ran twice on Tuesday.  The first, longer run was my regular track workout.  It was rather warm when I started, in part because I delayed the start to take care of some MDOT business.  Fortunately, the track around Oxford Lake is flat (as I mentioned previously), so it wasn’t so bad.

Later on Tuesday, I picked up another couple miles with the Anniston Runners Club.  We ran in the afternoon, which I feared until I got there.  It wasn’t so humid, and it’s not so bad when it’s a dry heat.

Ha!

Wednesday, 5 August 2009 – I ran 10 miles in Seymour, Indiana, after driving part of the way home.  I found what I thought would be a flat course and set about running.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t so flat as I had expected.  Fortunately, I survived a very hot, humid run.

Thursday, 6 August 2009 – I got back into town just in time to run with my regular running group; unfortunately, only one of them was there.  It’s much easier to catch up with everyone when they’re in one place.  Laura and I did just over three miles, and then we headed to our respective evening destinations; for me, that was hanging with Mary and Sheila (or Sheila and Mary, if you prefer).

3.06 miles, 32:17, 10:33/mile
