Running report: Back in Kalamazoo

As of Sunday, I was back in Kalamazoo, where I’ll be running for a while as normal. Actually, Sunday’s run was in Schoolcraft. It was very, very hot and humid. I should have started way earlier than I did, but (obviously) I didn’t.
5 miles, 50:37, 10:07.3/mile
Monday was my off day, and Tuesday was track day. Speed workouts are rough, and I didn’t have a good one. My left hamstring tightened up a bit, too, which didn’t help matters at all.
7.25 miles, 1:04:06, 8:50.5/mile
After the run, I opened and ate a fortune cookie. The fortune inside was strangely appropriate:
