Dr Carolyn von Maur, after examining my injured right foot and, apparently, reflecting upon my recent medical history:
“Do you have a physical therapist on speed dial?”
Tyanna B., upon my walking into Gazelle tonight, only to realise the need to clarify after we all stared at her:
“I’m not used to seeing you in clothing!”
For the record, she meant clothing used for something other than running.
Ylva E., upon my commenting that both Emily and I having said we would be happy to go visit her in Ann Arbor made us sound like parents:
“Hey, dad … can I have ten bucks?”
