Recent efforts
This is another relatively brief report, with a few comments sprinkled throughout.
8 September: 4 miles, 38:17, 9:34.2/mile … I should have been doing speed work that day, but that’s off my schedule. After this run, I did spend 40 minutes on the recumbent bicycle at the WMU Student Recreation Centre.
9 September: 8 miles, 1:21:41, 10:12.6/mile … This was the shortest Wednesday run I’ve enjoyed for a while. Sadly, I had ongoing difficulties with my left shoe.
10 September: 5 miles, 47:38, 9:31.6/mile … I cheated on my “regular” Thursday running group, instead spending quality time with some friends I hadn’t seen in a while.
12 September: 15 miles, 2:30:47, 10:03.1/mile … This was a really bad run. My legs simply crashed out around the 13-mile mark. I don’t know if I didn’t eat well during the week or what, but I was totally dead at 13. On top of that, I rolled my left foot around the 14-mile mark. I hope I never have another run that bad. It was a total failure.
