My Most Recent Miles
I’m slowly getting myself back into the mindset of wanting to train; unfortunately, that training won’t involve nearly so much running as I would like. The reduced running program is necessary for several reasons; chief amongst those reasons is my need to rehab my still-ailing right foot, which hasn’t shown a lot of improvement since the marathon. I also need to revise my training program to include more cross-training (and, by “more,” I mean “any”), and I need to regain the energy that I really haven’t had since I had influenza back in late October.
Most of my running lately has been with friends or for some specific purpose. On Saturday, I logged 3.65 miles with some of my friends, including one I hadn’t seen in a while. That took just under 35 minutes. The next day, I went out to survey the KAR Turkey Trot course. After what had been a very long (but very fun) day on Saturday, I wasn’t at my best; my foot was definitely not at its best. I dropped off the course run after just a couple of miles. I stepped out again tonight after work, logging 5k in 28:56.
