Despite the fact that it feels a bit narcissistic, I think a personal Web site should contain at least a little information about its author/owner.
I attended The University of Alabama, where I studied political science (concentrating in political theory and defense policy). By the time I graduated, I decided I wanted a more practical degree to go with my academic foundation, so I moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, and earned my MPA at Western Michigan University.
After a 2.5-year stint as the village manager in Schoolcraft, Michigan, I began working for the State of Michigan. I’ve worked in a couple of different departments, doing all sorts of things to make my adopted home state better than I found it.
Important Disclaimer: This blog is mine, and mine alone. The State of Michigan doesn’t own it or endorse it, and I don’t speak for the State of Michigan when I write anything here.
I live in Lansing with my wife and our three feline overlords. I have several interests that keep me busy. Distance running is my favorite outdoor activity. I run outside year-round, and am usually training for a half marathon. When I’m not running, I’m often found watching sports. My favorite teams are Ajax, Alabama, Arsenal, the Boston Celtics, the Buffalo Bills, the Buffalo Sabres, DC United, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The hobby I’ve enjoyed longest is collecting postage stamps. I’ve been collecting stamps since I was six years old. The collection has changed a bit over time, and its scope has narrowed a bit. Currently, I focus on stamps from the United States and Austria, though I have an album devoted to things that fascinate me.
That’s me in a nutshell. I’m not all that exciting, but I definitely like it that way.
